Chess Level 2/3 is designed for students ready to move beyond the basics and develop more thoughtful, strategic play.
Students learn to look beyond a single move, evaluate what is happening on the board and consider both their own plans and the possibilities available to an opponent. They develop greater awareness of patterns and learn to make decisions based on the overall position rather than reacting automatically.
The class encourages children to become patient, independent players who can analyze choices, learn from mistakes and approach each game with a plan.
Students develop their skills through guided play, position analysis, strategic questions and discussion of possible choices.
They are encouraged to explain why a move is strong or weak, consider alternatives and learn from both successful and unsuccessful decisions.
