SINGAPORE MATH · U.S. EDITION

BUILD STRONG THINKERS, NOT JUST GOOD CALCULATORS

Our English-language mathematics classes follow the Singapore Math U.S. Edition approach, internationally known for building a strong foundation in mathematical thinking.

Children learn to understand why a solution works—not simply memorize formulas. Through visual models, mental math, logical reasoning and problem-solving, students learn to break complex problems into manageable steps and approach mathematics with confidence.

The program progresses from concrete understanding to visual representation and finally to abstract mathematical thinking, helping students develop skills they can apply far beyond the classroom.

ABOUT THE CLASS

This class supports children as they move from early arithmetic toward more developed mathematical reasoning and problem-solving.

Students strengthen their understanding of numbers while learning to represent problems visually, recognize relationships and choose appropriate strategies. They are encouraged to think through a problem before beginning calculations and to consider whether their answer makes sense.

The class builds a bridge between basic skills and the deeper reasoning students need as mathematics becomes more complex.

WHAT CHILDREN DEVELOP

  • Strong number sense
  • Mental math
  • Mathematical reasoning
  • Visual representation of problems
  • Pattern and relationship recognition
  • Problem-solving strategies
  • Ability to check and explain an answer
  • Confidence tackling new mathematical situations

HOW WE LEARN

Mathematical ideas are explored through visual models, guided reasoning, mental strategies and problem-solving.

Students learn to explain their thinking and see that a problem may sometimes be approached in more than one effective way.
